Incorporating one of the highest concentrations of aluminum oxide nano-particles in the topcoat and a unique no VOC added production process, EvershineTM delivers a commercial grade wear resistance to residential customers. Vertical integration is a key part of the Appalachian credo as it permits the company to have greater control over the quality of the finished product. With this spirit in mind, construction of a kiln drying complex was accomplished in 2007. Having onsite kilns brought greater control of the manufacturing process but also cut down on the production process’ greenhouse gas emissions through decreasing extraneous transportation. In order to increase production capacity and consistency of the finished product Appalachian Flooring made significant improvements to the main manufacturing facility in 2009-2010. A state of the art scanner optimizer as well as an automated chop-saw system was integrated into the production line. This resulted in better average lengths and greater grading consistency throughout our product lines. In 2012 Appalachian Engineered Flooring ltd. opened its doors in North Troy, Vermont. This facility is dedicated to the production of unfinished hardwood flooring for site finishing as well as to the production of micro-beveled hardwood flooring for pre-finishing in our Cowansville facility.
