Walter MacKinnon is a Chartered Insolvency Restructuring Professional and Licensed Insolvency Trustee at MNP LTD. Previously, Walter was the President of J. Walter MacKinnon Limited, which began on January 1, 1997. Prior to this, Walter was a partner in the Charlottetown Office of Coopers & Lybrand and a Senior Vice-President of Coopers & Lybrand Limited (now PricewaterhouseCoopers). He qualified as a chartered accountant in 1974 with Clarkson Gordon, now Ernst & Young, in Toronto. He returned to P.E.I. in 1975 as a chartered accountant progressing to manager and then partner in 1985. In 1984 he became a member of the Canadian Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Professionals (CAIRP) and in 1985 he obtained his federal bankruptcy license.
