Alive+Fit launched in the summer of 2007 in an effort to create a resource that would support the growth of the natural health and wellness industry in the North by motivating readers to make healthier lifestyle choices and connecting them to the widespread resources available in the North. Sari Huhtala is the publisher and founder of Alive+Fit. She is a former journalist and certified personal trainer and fitness instructor specialist. In a leap of faith she left her job as a managing editor with a Sudbury-based media company in 2006 to start her own fitness and wellness business. She has been a certified fitness trainer since 1998, encouraging people to lead more active lifestyles.
