At Arashi Do Deerfoot North in North East Calgary we offer the richness of a long history of instruction, continued learning and excellence in our curriculum and our instructors. Karate includes our internationally recognized Little Dragons Karate program for students 4 to 7 years old as well as a specific curriculum developed for kids, teens and adults, beginner to advanced. Our Muay Thai program offers a dedicated curriculum that develops our youngest students, starting at 4, to our oldest beginners. This involves classes that will get you fit for Muay Thai and teach you Muay Thai as a recreational martial art, and for those who are interested in Muay Thai as a fighting martial art we have coaching and opportunities to face opponents in the ring. Our Brazilian Jiu Jitsu program teaches students from 4 through adult, beginner to advanced. Our BJJ program is directly mentored by Mestre Sylvio da Matta Behring out of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, developer of the progressive System of BJJ instruction and world renown practitioner and instructor of Jiu Jitsu. BJJ is often referred to as the chess of martial arts as it equally emphasizes the strategy and tactics of out- thinking your opponent while physically maneuvering them. We have our own pro shop with uniforms, equipment, and school related products readily available as well as a comprehensive student manual for each of our disciplines. We have a viewing room for parents/siblings while a student is in class and seating in the main dojo for those who would like to watch more directly. Red Phoenix Tae Kwon Do is focused on providing students with a safe space to learn and practice martial arts.
