Slate Works was established in 1997 and is run by owner Marie Hermanson. Marie designs and creates the product line for Slate Works, getting her inspirations from architecture, building, and her experience living and working in Japan. Her unique style is shown in the clean, simple lines of Slate Works' products. Working out of her studio space in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, this artisan at Slate Works uses a wide variety of tools, materials, & finishing techniques to bring high quality slate home & garden decor pieces to you. You will often find an "artisan-in-training" in the studio, as aspiring artists spend time in the studio learning how to work with stone & tools, and getting an introduction in running an art production business.
