Calrose Electric Ltd. was founded in 1976 by Jim and Marg Tatomir to fill a need for an electrical company to service the aggregate industry. Jim worked in the field while Marg provided all of the bookkeeping duties. Eventually, Jim was able to hire additional employees and move into a commercial bay in the Foothills Industrial Park in S.E. Calgary. His sons Rob and Paul began working for him during the summers and while Rob went to university, Paul started in the trade right out of high school and completed his journeyman electrician ticket. Rob would eventually come back to the company and obtain his journeyman ticket as well.
