The more than 20, 000 beef cattle producers who are stewards of the industry in this province have one organization that represents their collective interests - the Alberta Beef Producers (ABP). Theirs is an industry both progressive and historic, highly technical, yet grounded in the practical. From family ranches and farms, passed down through generations, to new, state-of-the-art feeding and breeding operations, the ABP is a proud reflection of this industry. Run by producers for producers, it is dedicated to maintaining a truly sustainable, competitive industry for the benefit of all society. Draft Vision Alberta Beef Producers is a strong, clear, and representative voice speaking and working on behalf of cattle and beef producers in Alberta and contributing to a vigorous and profitable beef industry. Mission To strengthen the sustainability and competitiveness of the beef industry for the benefit of beef producers in Alberta. The Alberta Barley Commission is a member-driven organization that represents Alberta’s 17, 000 barley producers. Barley is one of the building blocks of Alberta agriculture and, on average, our producers grow more than half of the country’s annual 10-million tonne crop. In Alberta, barley is an ideal crop for livestock feed, is highly prized by maltsters and is increasingly a grain of choice among health-conscious consumers. The potential of barley is growing as this ancient grain is considered for modern uses in biofuels, nutracueticals and other commercial and industrial uses.
