The JHSSA is an independent not-for-profit organization with a volunteer board of directors. It is sustained through membership fees, fundraising and donations.The JHSSA was incorporated in 1990, with Jay Joffe serving as president from its inception until his untimely death in August 2006. The skilled immigrant talent pool will be an important component of future workforce planning strategies. The Calgary Region Immigrant Employment Council (CRIEC) understands this dynamic and seeks to provide the appropriate solutions for both employers and skilled immigrants or internationally trained professionals (ITPs). We secure Champions from business and community leaders and other supporters who are ready, willing and able to tackle the challenges related to skilled immigrants securing and retaining employment commensurate with their skill and experience. In fact, when someone mentions the word, you think “boring” or “irrelevant”. At The Lantern, we’d like the opportunity to change your mind. First and foremost, we’d like you to discover, like we have, that knowing Jesus ushers you into a full life—one seasoned by grace, inspired by truth and rich in hope.
