A group of people in the community realized the need to join together in order to serve our neighbours better and so started the Food Bank in the spring of 2006 having no idea how big it would grow - but grow it did! We opened our doors at 7147 Lake Street in Bewdley in a room provided by the Bewdley Optimist Club who, along with the Bewdley Fire Department, the Bewdley Legion, Dabs'n Dolls and the Perrytown Parish founded Community Works. Four years later, as we were bulging at the seams, we were offered our new home at the Vincent Massey Memorial Centre in Bewdley. We are very grateful to Hamilton Township for providing us with a beautiful room in this facility, as well as the 5 founding groups mentioned above who enabled us to become what we are today.
