New from Guinot, Paris

Hydra Peeling

Guinot’s HYDRA PEEL treatments exfoliate, resurface, moisturize and renew the skin. Hydra Peeling with Hydra PH uses Phytic Acid (made from almonds), while Hydra Peel with Hydrabrasion uses natural cellulose particles and papaya extracts.

Hydra Peeling facial offers two versions of the peeling component, the first with Acid PH for all skin types; the second, gentler, for sensitive skin with manual Hydrabrasion.

Both versions are completed with a skin regenerating cream and massage phase and then with a soothing, hydrating, beauty-enhancing mask.

In just 45 minutes the skin will feel beautiful and re-energized. Both treatments minimize brown spots, smooth out the texture of the skin, increase radiance, minimize signs of aging and deeply moisturize the skin.

The best suited Hydra Peel treatment is determined on the client’s beauty goal and level of sensitivity. The skin will look brighter, feel cleaner, fresher and younger regaining its luminosity.

Guinot Derma liss Face Cream

Guinot's NEW Derma Liss Face Cream

May 05, 2016

Launching in Toronto May 2016

Derma Liss achieves a more youthful appearance by concealing wrinkles and minimizing the appearance of pores. While most anti-aging products only conceal wrinkles, Derma Liss treats these signs of

anti-aging by smoothing the skin’s surface using physical and optical fillers that seal gaps left by wrinkles and deflect light from them. The pointed tip, allowing precise application, was created specifically to allow women to zero in on problem pores and around the eyes. Test results have shown smoother and flawless looking skin after one application, and significant wrinkle-depth reduction after one month of use.

Key Ingredients:

- Hyaluronic Acid Spherical Fillers – A moisturizing complex that absorbs water, inflating and plumping out wrinkles.

- Pore Perfector – A purifying active ingredient that minimizes enlarged pores by helping fight bacterial growth and inflammatory responses.

Anti-aging devices, and how they work

Il y a 6 jours

1. Galvanic Technology

Galvanic technology works by using positive and negative currents. Positive electrons attract dirt and impurities from the deep layers to the skin's surface. The negative electrons ensure the absorption of nutrients deep into the skin's layers. The benefits include smoother and clearer skin, as well as reduced wrinkles and skin tightening due to muscle contraction.

2. Microcurrent Facials

Microcurrent anti-aging devices use low levels of electrical current to speed up cell repair, stimulate collagen and elastin production, and increase blood circulation. Microcurrent also tones facial muscles which helps tighten skin. Microcurrent facial treatments are painless and barely noticeable. Microcurrent treatments should be avoided by pregnant women, those suffering from epilepsy, those wearing a pacemaker, or those with recent scars.

3. Ultrasound

Ultrasound delivers heat energy to a particular location deep in the dermal layer, causing a small injury. The body responds to this injury by creating more collagen, which in turn helps lift and tighten the skin. This technique is FDA-approved and doesn’t have any known contraindications.

4. Infrared Light & Phototherapy

How infrared light affects the skin.

These devices work by directing artificial light to the skin where it reaches the deeper layers, stimulating cell regeneration, reducing inflammation, and boosting collagen and elastin production. Different light colours are used to treat different skin problems.

The most common colours used in light therapy are red and infrared LED light as well as orange, green, yellow and blue. Blue LED light is often recommended to treat acne issues.

Bottom Line

In my opinion as we get older, using only skin-care products are not enough to make a big difference with wrinkles and sagging skin, so we need the help of other anti-aging tools. Anti-wrinkle devices are not quick fixes, but with perseverance your skin's appearance will improve greatly.

Anti aging skin devices are a great addition to your regular facials and with continued use your skin will look amazing even in your golden years.

What are those

Hyaluronic acid = Wrinkle Reduction

Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring polysaccharide (carbohydrate) in the human body. It’s present in large amounts in the spaces between skin cells, where it provides moisture, plumpness, firmness and suppleness to the skin.

It is powerful humectant ( moisture-binding ingredient) that keeps skin plump and hydrated and, yes, young-looking. As we age, the body’s capacity to produce Hyaluronic Acid decreases. This results in thinner, dryer and wrinkled skin. By infusing Hyaluronic acid, the skin is able to regain lost moisture and volume, thereby reducing wrinkles.

Hyaluronic acid is one ingredient that works across the board. Every skin type, even oily, can benefit.

Peptides = Skin Repair

Peptides are chains of amino acids that are the building blocks of proteins in the skin. When peptides form a long chain of amino acids, they become proteins. When they are in a short chain of amino acids, they are able to penetrate the top layer of our skin and send signals to our cells to let them know how to function.

One important protein in our skin is collagen. Collagen gives our skin its thickness and suppleness. When collagen breaks down in the skin (from age and environmental factors like the sun and stress), wrinkles form. Peptides applied topically to the skin can send a signal to collagen to prompt the formation of new collagen, and voila, you have the appearance of more youthful, supple skin.

When its combined with Hyaluronic Acid, a synergetic effect of dermal repair is created.

Retinol = Collagen Renewal

Research clearly shows that retinol, the technical name for vitamin A, has truly astounding anti-aging benefits for skin. To make sure you’re getting the best of what this multitasking ingredient—and the 40 years of established research behind it—has to offer, here’s what you need to know.

A derivative of vitamin A, Retinol has been clinically proven to increase collagen and skin cell production. It is known as one of the best anti-wrinkle solutions.

Well known for its anti-ageing properties, retinol is able to tackle several different skin concerns at once including sun damage, fine lines, pores, acne and overall texture.

Your questions are always welcome.

Winter Skin Care from Guinot Paris

Il y a 6 jours

What are the top 5 winter skin care tips?

1.Exfoliation of the face and body are extremely important during this time of year. Dehydration due to the environment, use of hot water, and heat in the workplace or at home increase loss of moisture, which increases the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and blotchiness. For even better results, apply a mask after exfoliation to increase radiance, improve the texture of the skin, and increase moisture retention.

Guinot proposals: Perfect Radiance Exfoliating Cream for the face and Easy Body Scrub for exfoliation and Moisture Supplying Radiance Mask.

2.Apply a heavier protective cream to diminish wind burn and increase moisture retention.

Guinot proposal: Rich Anti-Wrinkle 888 Cream.

3.Gently exfoliate the lips and eye area and afterwards immediately apply a moisturizing mask to reduce moisture evaporation, flakiness, and to improve the appearance of the skin. Makeup will go on much smoother.

Guinot proposals : Biological Peeling Radiance Gel and Instant Eye Mask.

4.Protect the fragile skin on your neck with a nourishing, protective cream specifically made for that area. Many of us don’t realize how much our neck area is affected during this time of year (scarves, turtle necks, and cold air). Dehydration increases leading us to be more prone to wrinkles and fine lines.

Guinot proposal: Firming Vital Neck Care.

5.Exfoliate and use a mask on your hands.

Guinot proposals : Easy Body Scrub and Longue Vie Hand Care in a thick layer (leave for 15 minutes and then massage until complete absorption).

How often should you get facials during the winter?

Treatments should be done once or twice a month depending on the skin type or skin condition. Guinot proposal: Hydradermie, the star treatment for deep hydration.

What else should we remember to do to take care of our skin during the winter season?

Many people forget to use sunscreen during the winter, but eighty percent of the sun rays reflect from the snow versus twenty percent during the summer from the sand.

Guinot Hydra Beaute Mist

il y a 8 mois

Guinot New Hydra Beaute Mist

The concept of facial mist isn't new, but the technology has advanced to the level, where it’s more, then just water in the product.

Some of the products contain serum, multi-vitamins, antioxidants and essential oils. The moisturizing qualities of mists help improve dry, oily, irritated, flaky skin. Some products even have anti-aging ingredients, to reduce appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. Mists are also an easy way to add radiance to your skin.

When choosing a facial mist that is right for you, look for ingredients that will serve a purpose. For example, a mist with Hyaluronic acid, can hold 1,000 times its weight in water, so once its apply on the skin, you get an instant long lasting hydration.

Some mists offer more of a spa like effect, with only purified water and lovely smell, and may not be as effective, as one that has active ingredients.

Not all mists will have the same ingredients and will feel the same on the skin. Some can even make your skin feel dry, because they contain only water, and are designed only to refresh and freshen up the make-up.

The ones that have essential oils, vitamins, serum, minerals and plants extracts, may help with anti-aging and overall improvement of skin quality. They also, can be used to set the makeup, but they will hydrate the skin.

If you haven't tried Guinot facial mist yet, try it. I guarantee, you will like it. The product is very easy to apply and there are so many options when to and how to use the mist. Guinot Hydra Beaute mist is a great and welcome addition to Guinot Skin Care, to help with: calming, hydrating, cooling, replenishing and adding radiance to the skin.

Keep a facial mist at home, in your handbag, at the office, gym bag, at the cottage, on the beach and remember to take it with you on the plane. Facial mist is like drinking water, if you feel thirsty, then you are dehydrated, and same goes for tight, dry skin.

Keep up the hydration for supple, hydrated skin, one of the best ways to fight the sighs of aging.

Lets take a look what can be done . A growing number of people turning to Microdermabrasion and Derma Peel Pro treatment for help

Can it really help? And, the good news is yes – regular microdermabrasion and Derma Peel Pro treatments are proven to show significant benefits as a skin pigmentation treatment.

4.Whilst pigmentation on the face is the most common concern, The Microdermabrasion can treat numerous areas on the body

5.Provides effective, visible results from the very first session

The Microdermabrasion facial will ultimately act as a treatment for your pigmentation, although the final result and the number of treatments depends on a number of factors including the type of lesion, skin type, the degree of sun tan, size and depth of the vessels and the location to be treated. We will advise you on the number of treatments during your consultation session.

Derma Peel Pro by Skeyndor

There are many chemical peel treatments on the market today, which can make it difficult when it comes to deciding which brand to use and which ones have effective ingredients. The combination and quality of ingredients are very important to maximize the results of a chemical peel. One leading chemical peel that offers a safe, virtually painless peel experience and high-quality, effective ingredients is Derma Peel by Skeyndor.

Derma Peel Pro is one of the most popular chemical peels available and has earned doctor recognition world wide. The formula combines Kojic Acid, TCA, Retinoic Acid, Phenol, Salicylic Acid, and Vitamin C.

Alone the ingredients are powerful, but the combination produces amazing results. The anti-oxidants neutralize the harmful effects of free radicals for healthier skin. Kojic Acid is a powerful lightening agent proven to increase collagen and elastin production, resulting in skin that is brighter and tighter. TCA, Phenol and Retinoic Acid reduce wrinkles and correct pigment problems, while Salicylic Acid exfoliates the skin and reduces inflammation.

A chemical peel can:

1.Improve the overall tone and texture of your skin

2.Lighten and brighten your skin

3.Remove or reduce hyper pigmentation, melasma, sun damage and age spots.

4.Reduce the appearance of pore size

5.Soften fine lines and wrinkles

6.Reduce or eliminate acne and acne scars

7.Stimulate the production of collagen resulting in firmer skin.

I Hope this will help you to make the right decision on your treatment.

Growing in popularity is the newer Diamond-tip microdermabrasion with less discomfort and without the crystal residue at the end of the treatment

Diamond-tip microdermabrasion is the latest form of this treatment and has following advantages over crystal microdermabrasion.

1. No crystals left on the skin and floating around in the air.

2. No environmentally hazardous material to dispose of after each procedure.

Why Guinot sunscreens are better

2017-03-13

Science in skincare is so unpredictable that I am always trying to understand myself first before I deliver any information to you.

The French line Guinot is known for being innovative in the skincare industry and always pioneering very interesting products.

One of this products is Guinot sunscreen that contains DNA . After doing some research, I discovered, that when DNA added to the sunscreen, is actually very beneficial.
In a nutshell (because it gets rather technical and complex), the ultraviolet light from the sun causes damage to the skin cells by actually changing the structure of the DNA in them.

Introducing small bits of DNA (thymidine dinucleotide) can boost the cell's repair pathways so they remove more of the damaged bits of DNA after UV exposure.
The DNA is essentially major protection from the sun and Guinot', patented Nucleic Defense complex (DNA, heliotropine, filtres and UVA-UVB screens) is basically does not exist in the others regular sunscreen protection. The complex combines UVA and UVB filters with actual DNA molecules so it reflects as much as it repairs and protects. When applied, its absorbed pretty fast and has very fresh pleasant smell.
Guinot Sunscreen also contains Horse chestnut which help soothe the skin as well as Vitamin E to neutralize free radicals.

So next time when you ready to spend a day out doors or spend weekend at the cottage, give it try to Guinot sunscreen and tan safely.

Benefits of Regular Pedicures

2016-05-03

Everyone knows how good it feels to get a pedicure or manicure.

But there are also physical benefits to getting a pedicure on a regular basis. While your therapist is working on your feet, she is doing more than just painting your toes. By removing the dead skin and calluses with either pumice, or other implements, your pedicurist is helping you to feel better, improve the appearance and also check for any skin and toenails problems.

When you have calluses or corns on your feet or ingrown toenail ,hammer toe, they cause uneven pressure when you walk or stand. By the end of the day, your whole body could be in pain. Trained esthetician will recognized the issues right the way and will suggest for you right treatment or referral to a foot doctor.

Your esthetician may also offer a reflexology with your pedicure. This is a point pressure massage of the soles on your feet, that stimulates blood flow and opens the energy channels to every organ of your body. 99% of our clients are in deep sleep during this relaxing treatment.

At the end of a treatment you not only have your toes pretty but you also have a smile on your face, while we know ,you got better health!

Plan Ahead for Summer Skin Care

2016-05-03

Summertime and the living is easy—or at least, it’s supposed to be. Humidity and sun can make things a little more complicated, especially for your skin. You sweat every time you step outside, your makeup is melting into your face, and harsh UV rays leave your skin feeling cracked and dry. Don’t let the heat take you by surprise! Planning ahead and having your summer skincare regimen all figured out will keep you living easy after all. There are a few tips you should definitely incorporate into your strategy.

Sunscreen, sunscreen, sunscreen. Skin cancer is the most common type of cancer. Don’t let yourself become another victim when you could take just a few minutes to prevent it. Sunscreen also helps you in the short term, of course—red, peeling skin isn’t fun for anyone. To avoid clogging your pores and causing breakouts, opt for lightweight, oil free brands with refreshing ingredients like green tea and raspberry seed extract.

Nourish your body. Eat foods that will have you glowing from the inside out. Many fruits and vegetables are great for your skin, and as an added bonus, most of them will be fresh from the harvest during summer, making them nutritional powerhouses. Antioxidant-rich foods have the best benefits for skin. Here are some that the Mayo Clinic recommends:

  • Yellow and orange vegetables like carrots and peppers
  • Tomatoes
  • Green leafy vegetables like lettuce and spinach
  • Blueberries
  • Lentils
  • Nuts
  • Fatty fish

Avoid sugar, alcohol in excess, and refined carbohydrates, which are bad for skin and might sabotage your hard work.

Hydrate your skin. Keeping skin hydrated is a fundamental aspect of summer skincare. One of the best ways to do this is by using hyaluronic acid serum, which locks in moisture and keeps skin looking youthful while healing the damaging effects of the sun. Also make sure your body is getting enough water: eight 8-ounce glasses a day is typically recommended. Your skin will be the least of your worries if you pass out from dehydration! Also treat yourself to some water-rich foods (watermelon anyone?).

Exfoliate. Slough off unsightly dead skin cells with exfoliating scrubs or brushes to keep your skin looking and feeling soft and smooth. This will also help to gently draw out the oil and makeup that may get trapped in your pores over the course of the day.

Now you’re ready to enjoy those picnics and beach outings worry-free. Take care of your skin and your skin will take care of your confidence.

Spring Skin Care Tips

2016-05-01

                 Important Spring Skin Care Tips

With Spring here, it’s a great time to focus on your skin and prepare it for the change of season.

Skin Tip #1:

Assess  all your skin care products

Many of us have things that we don’t even know how or when to use, let alone when or why we bought it! Pull everything out of the cabinet and assess every product.

Toss:
-if the product is no longer working for you. No sense in hanging on to something that isn’t a fit for your skin.

-if the product is older than two years. The preservative system in most skin care products has a shelf life of two years.

-Same applies for make up.

Skin Tip #2:

Make daily use of sunscreen SPF 15- 30 a top priority, and apply it generously!

When it comes to sunscreen, in order for the SPF to truly protect the skin and prevent the harmful UV rays from damaging the skin, the formula has to be applied generously or it will not provide adequate protection.

Skin Tip #3:

Spring clean your pores with a professional facial.

Without a doubt, the most effective way to clear out blackheads and clogged pores from the skin is to have them manually removed with a professional facial.

Skin Tip #4:

Exfoliate to prevent blemishes and make your skin breathe again. The change of season from winter to spring can bring on increased breakouts for some. Why? Since the air is dry in the winter, the skin may have some residual dead skin cell build-up. Then when the temperatures start to warm up, it can bring increased oil flow, which can get trapped underneath cellular build-up resulting in clogged pores and possible breakouts. The solution? Increase your exfoliation.

Happy Spring everyone!

Lara
